One of my favorite shot's of 2005. Greenday at Milton Keynes Bowl. As usual we snappas got our 9 minutes in the pit, (which is always frustratingly short!), before being booted out. I went back into the crowd to enjoy the atmosphere and see if i could grab some telephoto shots. I'd never been to the bowl before, it's huge but there wasn't a close vantage point with sufficient height to get a clear shot. So i decided to go to the very back and get a shot that showed the massive scale instead. There must've been over 70,000 people in that arena and the atmosphere was electric, but it was so dark my camera couldn't focus on any of them. Suddenly i saw some sparks from the stage effects ignite, i switched the af to manual and then boom! The whole stage lit up, focus ...click ...done. It's rare you get to shoot thousands of people with probably the most expensive pyrotechnic flashgun ever made...
